Well. I am far from an expert. What I see the best orienteering women of the present.
1) Tove has the bigger step in this running-in as Simone. She straightens the hip and she uses her knees for drive. This is not necessarily Toves forest-step but could be the effect of a better switch from forest-step to road-step
2) It seems Simones step is instead a road-version of her forest-step. A bit longer maybe and a bit more rotation around the shoulders, but as usual extraordinary stable around the waist.
3) In the forest, you can not be sure that you will find grip at the place you set you foot. So the first part of the step is a bit passive. Tove and Simone therefore sit down in the first part to activate buttocks and tights for the second part of the step where all the drive comes out. [I will come back on that in a later article]
